AlpineFoil project

The AlpineFoil factory lighting project was a project on a human scale, giving CLAREO the opportunity to design and install a range of light fixtures suited to the technical requirements of the different spaces.

Located near Grenoble, the AlpineFoil factory specializes in designing and manufacturing French-made foils for kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddleboarding. The company turned to CLAREO for lighting in its new factory, seeking light fixtures with the right technical characteristics and a harmonious appearance.

Project requirements

This project presented different lighting requirements depending on the space, particularly in the following areas:

The company’s showroom, where the lighting fixtures needed to showcase the products on display while maintaining a stylish aesthetic to make the room inviting.
The finishing workshop, where excellent illumination was essential to reveal imperfections in the products.
Storage areas and production workshops, where good lighting was essential despite the high ceilings (4 to 7 meters).

Our solution

To meet these requirements, we implemented the following solutions:

The showroom

For the showroom, we selected adjustable DownRays with a high color rendering index (CRI) to showcase the products without distorting their colors.

StripLEDs aimed at the ceiling were also installed in coves around the room, adding a stylish touch to this space dedicated to showcasing products from the AlpineFoil factory.

The finishing workshop

For the finishing workshop, we chose cool-white panels (6000K). With its almost bluish light, cool white renders colors accurately and highlights even the smallest imperfections in the products, helping ensure an impeccable finish.

Storage areas and production workshops

For the storage areas and production workshops, we proposed HighBays and Everpaks for the AlpineFoil factory. These provide powerful lighting even under high ceilings.

CLAREO also lit the factory’s executive offices, open-plan office, entrance, locker rooms, landing and kitchenette, providing the company with a cohesive, comprehensive lighting solution.

For these spaces, we chose Panels for the open-plan office, adjustable Downlights for the executive offices, and low-glare DownRays in a range of wattages for the remaining rooms.

In total, CLAREO supplied more than 110 light points for this project.
