Sciences Po project

Our team supports customers with all their technical projects. Recently, we worked with SDEL Tertiaire, a VINCI Energies Group company, on lighting for Sciences Po’s Campus 2022. In total, CLAREO designed, manufactured and delivered more than 1,800 lighting fixtures for this 7,000 m² facility in the heart of Paris’s 7th arrondissement.

The interview

Could you briefly tell us about the project?

“This project is part of a larger initiative: Sciences Po’s Campus 2022. Expanded with three new buildings and three large courtyards, the new campus consists mainly of offices for researchers and meeting rooms, as well as a 1,000 m² library and an entire area dedicated to Sciences Po’s journalism school.”

What were CLAREO’s strengths on this project?

“What caught our attention first were the products’ attractive prices, but also the well-managed logistics: fixtures were stored in their warehouses in the Paris region and released smoothly throughout the project. We also received extensive support with lighting studies, as almost every space was modeled in DIALux evo. At each stage of construction, we had just one or two dedicated contacts, which made it much easier to handle our requests.”

How would you describe the support you received from the DIALux Team?

“Sciences Po’s engineering team had very demanding requirements, so finding products that met all the required technical specifications was difficult. However, with help from CLAREO’s DIALux Team, we found solutions: almost every space was modeled in DIALux evo, in 3D. We received real support in this area, and it was even one of the conditions for us to place an order.”

CLAREO LineLEDs in multiple configurations

Because the spaces to be lit were primarily decorative areas, the appearance of the fixtures was very important to the architectural firms working on the project. CLAREO therefore had to propose custom lighting fixtures, including LineLEDs made especially for Sciences Po.

Depending on the area, our teams varied the fixtures’ lengths, color temperatures, RAL paint colors, dimming methods, and technical specifications. They were recessed, surface-mounted, or even suspended, depending on the room. Sciences Po was thus able to benefit from the many configurations available with CLAREO LineLEDs!
